Gregg J. Borri received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1979. While at Washington & Lee, Mr. Borri was Executive Editor of the Washington & Lee University Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif, a prestigious national legal honor society limited to students graduating in the top rank of their class. Mr. Borri received his B.A. from Colgate University in 1976.
Mr. Borri is admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey and before numerous courts across the United States: 1980, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia; 1981, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits; 1984, New York and U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; 1989, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; 1996, New Jersey and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.
Mr. Borri has been active in professional organizations: New York State Bar Association (Member, Sections on: Business Law; Commercial and Federal Litigation and Creditor Rights Committee and Executive Committee, American Bar Association (Member, Sections on: Litigation and Commercial and Financial Services Committee; Business Law) and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Simone Meyer hails from Chicago, Illinois, and received her J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2011. In 2008, she was awarded her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated with honors. Ms. Meyer is licensed to practice law in New York and Illinois.
During law school, Ms. Meyer was active in the representation of indigent clients when she clerked for the Office of the Cook County Public Defender in Chicago. In 2011, she received the Chancellor’s Award for Service from DePaul University College of Law for her achievements at the Public Defender’s office.
Since joining the Borri Law team, Ms. Meyer has focused on assisting individuals who have been injured by the World Trade Center disaster in filing a claim for compensation with the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. She is also active in the practice’s products liability and commercial litigation work. Working with Borri Law Offices has given her a chance to expand her knowledge of federal and state law and sharpen her legal research and writing skills. Ms. Meyer also has an interest in international politics and enjoys reading about world history.
Olta Gjoca graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University with a degree in history and French. In her sophomore undergraduate year, Olta was a Gilman Scholar for a semester abroad.
Since joining the office in 2011, Ms. Gjoca has become involved in all aspects of the firm’s work. She is actively involved in preparing pleadings and discovery in order to advance our clients’ cases, particularly clients injured from the implantation of defective metal-on-metal hip prostheses. She also assists attorneys in the office with September 11th Victim Compensation Fund claims to help those injured in the aftermath of 9/11 to receive compensation.
